'Tis the Season

I'm sure there are plenty of sighs out there...Kit calls me misguided...I know! BUT-I can't help it. I L.O.V.E. the Holiday Season. It begins with Halloween and then...Thanksgiving...then- CHRISTMAS! I'm not the only one in love with Christmas out there, I know. But, here it comes, my admission of complete guilt. Are you ready for it? I enjoy Christmas music immediately after Halloween...You didn't catch that? Okay, Okay...I L.O.V.E. Christmas music. Today is a pseudo Christmas season for me. Gav and I whipped up a batch of molasses crackles...yummo! And the best part of the day is...drumroll...as in Little Drummer Boy! Yes, as of today Sirius plays Christmas Music AND I am listening to it right now online. Ahhhh! I love this season and Frosty the Snowman, the Grinch, Silver Bells...

I agree with you in that the time between Halloween and New Years is the best time of the year. But I like to wait until at least Thanksgiving to start the music. Each holiday needs to have its own "stuff" and Christmas music is enjoyed after the "stuffing";) I can't wait until this time of year and it always goes by too fast!!

P.S. How do you make molasses crackles?

Me too! I have been listening to Christmas music in the car with the kids. We all love it. Uncle Nate doesn't know yet. He doesn't believe in listening to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving....party pooper! I love this time of year too. Having kids makes it a whole new kind of fun.

Liberty, you are not alone. We love Christmas music too. Ariel probably the most, no kidding. She has been listening to it every morning since BEFORE Halloween. When I questioned her she said, that she LOVES it and there isn't enough time in the holiday season for it. Plus, she said the stores have Christmas stuff out.
This really is the best time of year!
I want to know about the molasses crackles too! Are they molasses cookies?

So not alone! I'm on countdown to watching White Christmas. I'm waiting for snow, and of course the past two years it snowed by mid-Oct., but not this time. Love the holidays!

If anyone gives you a hard time about loving Christmas, they're just faking it! They probably had a horrible present one year and have never gotten over it. I was half tempted to start decorating for Christmas the other day!

It is so nice to see my confession wasn't as awful as some (my husband) led me to believe ;). He's a stickler for Christmas music ONLY after Thanksgiving.

Andrea-Tell Ariel there have been years where I started listening to it before Halloween, too.

The cookies are basically molasses cookies. I got the recipe off of Plum Pudding blog (on my sidebar). They looked yummy, I was feeling in the season, so out came my rare bake-ability.

I love Christmas too! Mike thinks I am weird because I want to pull out all the Christmas decorations as soon as Halloween is over. If I could I would listen to Christmas music too but that would drive Mike nuts.

Ahhhh, it's nice to hear that are others out there like me! Who doesn't love the whole Christmas season?? Well...Phillip is aghast at the thought of Christmas music before Thanksgiving...and really even after it (party pooper). He gives into my lovely indulgence. :) I too contimplated putting up my Christmas decorations the other day. I am also scanning the radio stations to see who starts the Christmas music...I need that darn Sirius radio!

Lib you crack me up!! Greg is the same as you. He thinks I am a real bah humbug for not listening to Christmas music all year round. He teases me that Christmas should be in our hearts all year long. :) I am not as strict as Kit (he can be very militant about holiday traditions! ;)) But I like to think that the Christmas season is so special because we look forward to it all year.

Anyway, enjoy the season - whenever it official starts to you!

Love ya - Ash

I say, viewing the other comments, we all unite against our hubbies and turn up the Christmas music!!! j/k...kinda. Spencer and Kit ought to get together and they can be Grinches together.:P

I ate some chocolate-coated pretzels the other day and just about bust out the tinsel. I'm glad to see the Molasses Crackles are a new thing, I was a little worried that maybe I missed out on some fabulous family tradition while I was off playing barbies or something. So...mom bought me some glittery candycanes the other day for the tree...long live the Whoville Tree! Ok-novel over.

Just to defined my self and other. The Holiday of Thanksgiving comes before Christmas, which is a Holiday that TOTALLY revolves around being THANKFUL for the family, friend and everything else that our Heavenly Father has give us. To me that is a holiday that Deserves it's time alone. I love Christmas and I am not a Humbug and not Militant (ash) I just believe that everything has its place. HUM bug:)

I have been making some of my decorations lately for Christmas. As I make them it doesn't make sense to put them into the attic just to bring them back out in two weeks. I think I need to blog about the holiday things that are creeping out early...lol. We started listening to Christmas music on the radio today too. The Pirate, 106.5 has Christmas music running now too!!
