Gettin' Carried Away
I don't know if anyone has noticed, but my children tend to be a bit, ahem...clingy as infants. I pick them up, carry them and attempt to accomplish tasks while still maintaining a content beastie/beastette. I discovered (or I should say my sisters) discovered the best mode of transportation for such little ones- a sling. A hands-free way of carting...ahhh...smiles all around.

If you haven't yet, you should scan the forums at thebabywearer.com. There are so many styles of great carriers! I absolutely loved a mei tai and later a soft-structured carrier. I bought a wrap and sling this time also, but haven't gotten the hang of it yet. Carried babies are generally more content and smarter, and I think their mommies are more content too. :) I love being hands free so I can (pretend to) get things done or be able to hold onto L and still carry J.
Yay!! Thanks for the tip. I'll totally have to check them out. I still get a chuckle thinking of baby Gun sitting in your sling all wrapped up with his long, sinewy legs. There he was all content and so fashionable. :)
Super cute - too bad I'm not much of a sling person. That and I swear, Lillian is way too big for it. I had a feeling Whit would like the Mimi one, in fact, that's the one I like. I was just thinking I needed to find a new carrier, since my previous one got recalled. I just went ahead and bought one of these slings (The Fergie) - thanks for the post because I get a 15% discount). It looks like just the thing that I need. I wasn't sure about getting one of the wraps - seems like it would be hard to figure out how to tie it, but this looks easy.
I actually haven't noticed more than average clingy behavior in your kids. They just love their mommy.
Good suggestion. I like hearing moms' advice about products that have worked for them. I'll have to look into one.
