My Little Theologian

Kit has been working nights due to the oil mess in the Gulf, so we were on our own for FHE. I decided to go fun and easy and set up "game night". We ate sandwiches and chips around the Sorry board. Jos looks closely at the board after we had been playing for a little while.

"You know Mom, Sorry is like the plan of life."
"Oh? How's that?"
"You start off in a safe spot, like the pre-existence, then you go on earth, where you are beat up on, then you get back home when you're done and you're safe there!"

Leave it to my son to teach me a spiritual lesson for FHE.

Wow, deep! They are so amazing sometimes. It's reassuring when your kid spouts off something like that-maybe at some point they were listening and you are making a difference.

That Josiah! I hate that we are not going to get to see him grow up! He is such a great kiddo and a DEEP thinker! WOW! I agree with Dirk. He has some awesome parents teaching him! Good job! Makes me feel bad b/c all of our FHE games of Sorry usually end up with us all mad at each other and Cecily crying b/c she didn't win! :)

What a smart, spiritual boy you have! It shows what great parents he has too, that you've taught him so well.

Ahhh, so sweet! What a smart little boy...must be all those Holyoak genes floating around in him ;) The countdown has officially begun until I can squeeze him so hard his eyebrows arch!

But wait...I want to read Gavin's golden belt missionary Ninja story!

What a smart boy! It's moments like those that make you realize that they are learning what you are teaching them! Kudos to you & Kit!

What a great analogy.

A few Sundays ago Kit was sitting behind us with the kids in Sacrament meeting. (You were not there.) The speaker started crying, and Josiah asked Kit, "Why is she crying." And Gavin piped in, "She's not crying, she's feeling the Holy Ghost."

I love your kids and their innate wisdom! You will all be greatly missed.

Ohhh, how sweet!! Everyone is right!! You guys are great parents. Give yourself a break and a pat on the back. You deserve it. :) That sweet, Jos. See! He does listen even when maybe you didn't think he was. Hopefully, it's true with my little stinks as well...
I love you all so much and seriously can't wait to see you! I'm dying here!!

That means we can play Sorry for FHE. I like the idea of comparing ot the plan of salvation. Your son is very bright. Sounds like he listens to you.

I had a wonderful comment, but as I read down through these comments, I just want to say ditto!
I think I've told you before, but it bears repeating. Keep teaching, keep loving and keep trying, in the midst of all the fertile imagination driven antics, those little heads are absorbing truth.
