Wonderful Weekend

I'm excited for the arrival of this weekend. I love General Conference. Despite the fact I can't curl up and watch it on the TV (alas, no satelite), I will be curling up to attempt to listen to it via the computer. I say attempt because I DO have children. Anyone with children will agree that you can only attempt anything. I hope to overcome the wiggles with a conference activity book my friend emailed me. So, here's hoping!! I love to hear the words of our Prophet. I love the opportunity to re-evaluate my life. Well, more honestly I welcome it and fear it. I hate the feelings of failure that creep in...but, that is where trusting the Lord comes in. If I can relax and let the Spirit touch my heart to make it an uplifting experience, I WILL grow and become who I want to be.

I am also excited for my sister, Stephanie, coming. What!? Wasn't she just there? Yes, she was. I know, I know, I'm absolutely spoiled!! Kit needed to go out of town this upcoming week for some training and my birthday happens to be this week. My loving sister hated the thought I would be alone (with children) for the big day, so she is coming. I also need to send out a gi-normous and heartfelt thanks to my brother-in-law, Phillip. He is willing to send my sis to me and stay home to watch their two boys. Thank you!

How fun you and Steph get to hang out together so much recently! Yay for awesome husbands/daddies too! I understand what you mean about the self evaluation, and now the kid thing too! Thank goodness for satellite and internet-attempting to get 1 kid to sit still for 1 hour of church is quite a challenge, anything more than that is just anxiety inducing. Good luck and have fun w/ your sis!

How wonderful to have some sisterly bonding time on your birthday! We got that email with the packet for conference - I hope it works! I love general conference, but it's very easy to become overwhelmed by all the information - I wish I could pause it, digest it, and then push play. :o)

oh, i sooo agree liberty, one can ONLY attempt. I am just as excited about confrence as you (what I will actually get to hear of it amid chaos and screams ;)

I love the spiritual learning experience. I always recieve guidance from my Heavenly Father, even guidance I didn't realize I needed (which is a little scary). Happy Birthday!!! have fun!

That's great you get to spend time with Stephanie on your birthday. I love conference but even I have a hard time paying attention so I can't imagine what it is like for kids.

Happy Birthday 4 days early!!

Just to let you know, it does get easier to catch conference the older your kids get. I so love being able to listen on to it on the internet! It was neat hearing Pres. Monson sustained this morning. I agree listening to the talks are uplifting and conference always seems to come at the times I need it the most!
Happy early birthday! I'm so glad your sister is going to be able to share it with you! Let me know if I can be of help while Kit is gone.

I got e-mailed the conference packet by 5 different people! Alas, I didn't print it out because I didn't think the kids would "get" it quite yet. They spent the time during the sessions playing around with each other while Brian and I watched on the computer (we're with you on not having satellite...)

How fun to have Steph visit again! You are one lucky girl!

So, first off, I'm super-jealous. No fair that she gets two visits in before I even get one! grrrr. Anyway, I was watching conference yesterday (sunday)(we broke into mom's house and watched on their satellite;). During the afternoon session, there was a talk given by M. Russell Ballard that I really thought you should hear. It just reminded me of previous conversations. I love you and miss you loads!

Lib, I too, have a waited wonderful conference weekend. I'm so grateful that we have satellite! It's hard to put a finger on which talk was my favorite, Pres. Uchtdorf's on Sunday morning has to be right up there but the whole conference was truely inspiring. I was just talking to Sydnee this morning about the feelings of not measureing up. That is one of satan's favorite tools! You are an amazing daughter of our Heavenly Father! We are so blessed to have you in our family!
Enjoy your Mom and Steph (I wish I could be there) Hug my babies for me. Can't wait to see all of you!
